Our certified organic cotton is ethically grown at a small farm by the Aegean Sea in Turkey and processed with strict adherence to the GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard), which is the absolute highest standard for organic textiles.

What Is Eco-White?
Textile dyes pollute our drinking water, kill aquatic life, and ruin our soils. So-called “low impact” dyes still have “impact” and involve the use of synthetic chemicals, while “natural dyes” are resource, water and land intensive, can cause skin and lung irritation to textile workers and require the use of toxic mordants. Therefore, we only make white bath mats.
We are GOTS Certified Organic by EcoCert Greenlife in 2023, the highest level of organic certification in the world.
Consumers must be warned that hundreds of bath mats on Amazon are marketed as “organic” or “sustainable” but are not truly organic nor sustainable. Warning signs include 1.) cheap prices (certified organic bath mats are unfortunately not cheap), and 2.) the manufacturer claims “organic” but does not have an actual certificate from GOTS. Without certification, the bath mats’ organic authenticity is highly doubtful. To make matters more confusing, there are alternative certifying bodies with lower standards that will certify bath mats as “organic” even if they have only 5% of organic material in their composition. So some disingenuous manufacturers use 5% organic cotton and 95% conventional cotton, but still market and sell their bath mats as “organic.” So if organic is important to you, which it should be, make sure the company you are buying from is GOTS-certified!

We would rather have our plush terry cloth bath mats do the talking, so we use uncoated, undyed, natural Kraft brown boxes, paper labels, and paper ribbon. And we use glassine paper bags, rather than plastic, to protect our luxury bath mats during shipping. Our packaging is 100% plastic-free. Many other companies give the impression that they are eco-conscious by offering an additional charge at checkout to make your shipment carbon neutral. We do not pass this cost onto our customers. Instead, we take the responsibility and pay extra to offset the carbon for every order that we ship.
